Kitten Protein Crunch

It’s easy to find snacks today. But many of them come with a high price; sugar, chemicals, palm oil and GMO‘s to mention a few of the things often sprinkled in and on our snacks. Solution? Make you own food! Like this raw vegan 2 in 1 muesli/ trail mix, a perfect addition to your breakfast, smoothie bowl, on the go or as a pick me up snack as well as a post workout protein hit!

Why I love it:

Due to its high protein ingredients like pumpkin seeds, that provides 54% of recommended daily allowance of protein per 30 g. The hemp seeds bring plenty of  healthy fatty acids, Omega 3 and Omega 6. They are also high in magnesium, thiamin, phosphorus, zinc, copper, manganese and Vitamin E. Cacao nibs are high in iron, another metal that vegans should be mindful about including in their diet. The cherries are excellent against post workout soreness and sooo delicious!

Feel free to use other fruit and (go) nuts with your imagination.

Kitten Crunch

  • 3 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons cacao nibs
  • 1,5 cup (4 dl) cashew nuts (or any other nut)
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • 2 dl dried peaches, sliced in half
  • 1,5 dl dried gooseberries or cherries
  • 4 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon (amps up your sugar metabolism)

How to make it:

  • Slice the dried fruit into long tranches or whatever you feel like is best for you!
  • Mix everything together in a big bowl and add the salt and spices at the end.
  • Enjoy and bring everywhere all the time because you refuse to be HANGRY!
