SOS from Amazonias

As I am writing this, a big part of our planets lungs, the amazonias, is on fire. Almost 73,000 fires have been detected by Brazil’s space research center INPE, according to Reuters.

This is horrible on it’s very own, but the fact that Brazil’s right-wing President Jair Bolsonaro has done nothing to help solve the burning situation is only making it so much worse. As a matter of fact, Mr. Bolsonaro has been accused of harming the Amazon rainforest and indigenous peoples in order to benefit loggers, miners and farmers who helped get him elected. He’s an outspoken anti-environmentalist against ecologist activism and who puts monetary profits before all.

So my eco-warriors, it looks like it’s up to us. NASA captured images of forest fire plumes from space last week, is you want to gain perspective on how big of an issue we are facing here.

Let’s come together and do more than #prayforamazonias;

First; Donate some money to organizations dedicated on helping amazonias.

Thru these organizations, you can support the indigenous people living there, buy and protect acers of the rainforest, help to protect the animals that live in the jungle and help to support science and other projects.

And then; Boycott all brazilian products! I’m usually not the one to scream for a boycott as I’m well aware that it will affect a lot of people already struggling, but in this case I do not see any other option.

Sign this petition and read more to gain further knowledge on the matter. Trust me, there’s more than one reason that I am choosing this radical standing-point. You gotta fight money-hungry assholes by taking YOUR money away from their dirty hands. Never forget just how powerful you are and that you are voting with every single $$$ for what kind of world you want to live in.

Furthermore; Stop eating meat and diary already. Animal agriculture is the leading cause of deforestation. End of story.
