HOT 6 with A Pilates Teacher

Written by Kajsa IngelssonMarch 30, 2019

This HOT 6 features Veronique Lefort, a pilates teacher and ladyboss who seriously saved my health this last year in Montreal. Always on top of her game with an inner strength shining through her gracious appearance, I knew I just had to know her secrets and share them with you.

What is it that you do?

I am a Pilates Instructor and the owner of MTL Pilates Lab.

Who would benefit from seeing you?

Most of my clients in private settings are men who have some sort of injury and want to learn how to go back to their daily activities without pain.

I welcome people from all walks of life who are interested in understanding their bodies. Whether it is to recover from an injury or to simply find better harmony.

There is so much pressure in today’s society to have it all, see all and be all. How do counter the stress that this brings and find balance in your life?

The pressure is real, since my clients expect a lot out of me. Being an ex-ballerina, I used to put a lot of pressure on myself, and I was never completely satisfied. I have turned the page on longing for the unattainable.

Living in the moment and giving to the person in front of me if what fulfills me now.

What does it mean to you to live a healthy life?

I have a busy schedule. Eating right is one of my top priorities, my fridge is always stacked with fruit and vegetables. Adding Marine collagen in water is also very helpful (Lavender & Lemon from Vital Protein is delightful)

I’m using all natural products on my face. I exercise regularly (spinning, Pilates, yoga, TRX, swimming, lots of walking). Finding down time rejuvenates meSpending time with friends and family is so very important to me.

What are the top three things you do to contribute to saving this planet?

As much as possible I purchase produce from the Jean-Talon market in Montreal.  I always bring my own grocery bags!

At the MTL Pilates Lab we believe in a paperless environment. Bills are sent out via email, and we have our clients bring their own water bottles.

In my family we recycle clothing.  We share baby clothing inside our circle of friends, and I give away clothing to my nieces.

What are your favourite health habits/routines?

I make it a must to do a pilates routine daily.

I love going for facials to get my skin glowing.

I consider seeing my physiotherapist and massage therapist an integral part of my healthy lifestyle.

What’s the best advice you have for us on how to live life to the fullest?

I think the most important is to find fulfillment all around.

Having a job through which you don’t feel like you are working, and staying passionate about it.

Spending time with people who respect you and let go of negative energy.
