How to Raise Your Vibration and Change the World

Everything consists of energy. And this energy is vibrating at a certain frequency. This is why we get along so well with some people, are intrigued by others and have a strong feeling to stay away from some.

Much of reading “vibes” is intuitive—you can tell a person’s energy when they walk into a room, for example.

My belief is that when we meet someone, we have a strong desire to vibrate at the same level. So, if you hang out with people that carry a lower frequency than you do, you will unconsciously lower yours to match theirs. Alas, when we meet someone that is vibrating higher than us, we can also choose to step up to their level. However, this requires a conscious effort, an open mind and a vulnerability that not all people are willing or able to put forth.

We are all responsible for our lives and the vibration that we carry.

Which is a great thing, because as Abraham Hicks puts it; “As you think, you vibrate. As you vibrate, you attract.” Literally, your thoughts become your world. Think small, and your world will be small. Think big, and your world will be big. You manifest change according to how you direct your thoughts and emotions.

When you are vibrating at a higher level, you feel lighter and happier. You are raising your consciousness, which is basically what all traditional religions and spiritual practices are about.

So how do you raise your vibration?

Well, there’s a few different tried and tested ways to help you on your way.

1. Gratitude

Gratitude is one of the quickest ways to amp up your vibration. Try it right now – stop reading and look around the room. Turn your attention to what you are thankful for in this moment (there is always something). It might be your pet, the beautiful weather, or the fact that you were blessed with another day on this earth. Whenever you are feeling a low energy emotion, shift your attention to feeling gratitude and see how your mood changes.

2. Love

Call to mind someone who is easy to love, and hold that person in your heart. Visualize him or her sitting in front of you and notice how you feel. A feeling of expansion, lightness, and happiness will take over your being, and that right there is the shift you are looking for. 

3. Generosity

Whatever you want more of in your life, offer it out to someone or something else. Feeling poor? Give a little money to charity. Feeling lonely? Make an effort to make a stranger smile. Don’t have enough time? Give your time to a good cause.

4. Meditation and Breathwork

I know, this one is on all the lists of, well, everything. It’s because when you train yourself to be present in the now moment you are in, you resonate more harmoniously with the truth.

The past and the future are only in your mind; the only truth is now. 

Meditating and breathing mindfully also calms your nervous system, improves your mood, and brings about greater feelings of peace—all high-vibe qualities that will benefit your state of being.

5. Forgiveness

Blame is a really low vibe emotion. If you can work toward forgiveness, you will release yourself of this lower energy that can weigh on you like a bowling ball. Oh and btw, you can forgive someone and still choose not to have them in your life. Just saying…

6. Eat High-Vibe Food

You know I am all about this one. If you eat a lot of “dead” energy (in the form of meat, fried, or processed food), you will lower your vibration. By eating nutrient-dense foods, like local and organic fruits and vegetables, your body literally absorbs these things, making you more light, vibrant, and alive. High-vibration food makes a person’s vibration higher, it’s as simple as that.

7. Reduce or Eliminate Alcohol and Toxins from Your Body

While it can temporarily feel good, alcohol is a depressant and lowers a person’s vibration. Becoming sober 3 years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. If you want to be clear, spiritually connected, and have a healthy outlook on life, chances are that eliminating toxins from your body would be a good place to start. Rather than numbing out, adopt a more healthful and holistic way of life and see if you don’t feel more energetically abundant.

8. Think Positive Thoughts

What you think about, you become, and each thought you think creates your future. If the thoughts you think are pessimistic, overly anxious, or in any way negative, you will likely find what you are looking for. When you are going into that negative thinking, stop yourself, focus on your breath, redirect your thoughts to gratitude and retrain your mind.

9. Consume High-Vibe Music, TV, Books, and Movies

I love hiphop and trap music. But recently, I started to notice that I was attracting quite some gangster (yeah seriously) drama into my life. Not only that, but I was feeling a bit aggressive and on edge. I started to listen more to podcasts, mantras and electronic music instead, and honesty, I feel so much more at ease.

The music we listen to are sort of like the soundtracks to our lives.

Be sure your entertainment is of high vibration and leaves you feeling uplifted rather than depleted. The same goes for TV shows, social media and movies. Be as selective about your media intake as you are about the quality of the food you eat, and you will find newfound energy in your day.

10. Go for a Walk Outside

Earthing and being outside is such an important part of my life. I make sure to talk at least one walk a day outside, regardless of the weather (thanks Mr. Tiny). Reconnecting with mother nature and reminding myself that we are all one is such a beautiful part of life. Even a few minutes spent mindfully outdoors can completely shift your mood, which is why going for a walk around the block when you’re having a mental block or a conflict with someone can be so beneficial. I usually talk out loud to my spirit guides, angeles or the trees when I need some guidance too. Try it! It’s very comforting.

11. Be Sure Your Relationships Are Vibing High

Last but not least, surround yourself with people who lift you up, rather than drag you down. Remember what I said about vibing at the same frequency in the beginning of the post? YEP. Spend time only with people who make you feel better about yourself, people who believe in you, and are interested in resonating at a high frequency just like you are.

I’m all too familiar with paralyzing eco-greif. But since I started to work actively raising my vibration, my life is all around so much better. And don’t for a second think that this is a selfish act; channeling your efforts into raising your energetic frequency is one of the best gifts you can give the world. When you lift yourself up, you bring others with you. This is the only way you can contribute to raising the collective consciousness of the world.
